This wild orange tree favours open forrest country and the fringes of watercourses. A rather small, scruffy tree, it grows to a height of about 3 metres. The oval shaped leaves are dull green to blue in colour. During the months of Dec, Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr, round ball like fruit are produced. The outer casing has a gnarled appearance. The fruit of the tree is attached to the tree by a distinctive stalk like structure. The smooth stalk leads from the fruit, and does a 90 degree bend, and then has a large, knobbly joint.
