Supple Jack is reasonably widespread in northern Australia and can be found around rainforest fringes or disturbed areas. It also favours the scrub around creek lines. The vine is present throughout the year. A distinctive climbing cane-like vine, Supple Jack has unusual grass-like leaves with tendrils extending from the tip, to curl around tree branches and assist with climbing. At various times of the year, tiny cream-coloured flower heads or clusters of small berries are present on the ends of the canes.
