Scurvy weed is a ground-running vine of the tropical and sub-tropical regions. It is prolific throughout the year and favours the moist ground areas beside creek lines and water courses. The vine stem is jointed and attached to the ground by a series of roots that grow from these joints. A number of glossy green leaves grow at the terminal bud. Flowers are three-petalled and bright blue. The vine grows in patches, covering the ground with a grass-like matting.
