The Plumwood is found in the top of the northern Territory and Kimberley regions. A slender and upright tree, growing to a height of 15 metres, it is usually found in association with gum trees along creek lines or on black soil plains. The small very narrow leaves fall from the tree by the end of July. Flowers are cream to green with numerous stamens. The smooth-skinned fruit, produced during the wet season, fall to the ground from Mar, Apr and May. They are purple when ripe. These fruit consist of a thin fleshy rind around a large stone . . .
