A very thin twining vine of a wide variety of regions and environments. The vine which is similar in appearance to the domestic bean, attaches itself to other plants and shrubs. The vine is very easily identified due to the lance like trifoliate leaf structure. The leaves are narrow and have a prominent central mid rib. During the months of Feb, Mar, Apr, May, Jun, and Jul, small pea-like flowers appear. These flowers are often yellow, but occasionally blue. The flowers are followed by a thick rounded edible pod.
