Lolly Bush is usually found in the arid zone, but is not necessarily restricted to that area. It tends to grow along side water sources such as creeks and rock holes. It also occurs on coastal plains and sometimes behind coastal dunes, where it can be rather spindly. Because the bush grows in well-drained soil with a permanent supply of moisture, it can be a good water indicator. The low squat bush has bright green over shaped leaves. During the wet season, it carries bunches of long white star shaped flowers with protruding "whiskers", followed by red and black . . .
