A large Tropical Rainforest tree, which produces circular or oval shaped pods during the months of Oct, Nov, and Dec. the pods which are green in colour, contain one elongated and extremely hard nut. After falling to the forest floor, the green pods soon turn to blackish brown and begin to rot away revealing the hard nut casing. (See above photo). These casings, have four or five flattish sides which are slightly pitted and taper toward one end. In fact, they tend to look like a small miniature football.
