The Gulf Plum can often be found on coastal plains and hills around the Gulf of Carpentaria and the Top End. It commonly grows on sandstone or sandy flats, but can occur on stony ground. This tree can grow to 15m but is usually smaller. The bark is grey. The large, broad leaves are dull green and typically crowded towards the ends of the branches.
