This low ground creeper sometimes grows as a small branching shrub. It is usually found in Savannah Woodland country and Wetland areas. The leaves often take up different shapes and range from broadly heart shaped to distinctively five lobed, and have serrated edges. The stems and flour stalks are covered with hairs. The attractive flowers measure up to 13 cm across, and may be watermelon pink or yellow or even white in colour, with a dark red throat as you see above. The plant begins its annual growth with the first rains of the Wet season, and dies back early . . .
