This tree is most often found along the watercourses tropical and temperate rainforest, as well as vine thicket areas behind coastal mangroves. The tree grows up to 30 metres, with a rich, dark-green foliage. Young leaves are a fawn colour. The leaves grow opposite one another. During the months of Apr, May, Jun, Jul, and Aug, the tree produces massive clusters of globular white-coloured berries. During this period, the tree looks as if it is covered in snow. The fruit is about 1.5 -2 cm in diameter and contains a single large seed.
