The wild Bush Lemon is commonly found in the rainforest areas of North Queensland. Originally it was introduced into the area but has now become so widely spread as to be regarded as a local "bush food" in its own right. Most often the lemons are to be found growing beside creeks, rivers etc or near old disused mining camps and dwellings. The lemon tree in appearance resembles any other cultivated citrus, however the thorns of the Bush Lemon are extremely long and sharp, (see above photo).
